Herpes zoster oticus is a disease associated with otalgia, vesicular eruption on the involved side, facial pararlysis, hearing disturbance, tinnitus, vertigo and other symptomes. James Ramsay Hunt named herpes zoster oticus as Ramsay Hunt syndrome after intensive studies and elaborations. Author had experienced five cases considered as Ramsay Hunt syndrome by clinical symptomes aria signs from June 1979 toAugust 1980.
We reported the results of treatment for five cases with nicotinic acid, Vitamine B complex, aureomycin, prednisolone and etc. and we reviewed the literatures.
